Katarina Henryson (SE)

As one of the original members of the singing group The Real Group since its inception in 1984, Katarina's flexible alto voice, compositions and special stage presence were one of the cornerstones for 32 years. After Katarina left The Real Group, she now gives solo concerts in various constellations, and works in an area that can best be described as the intersection between performance art and ensemble singing. Katarina is artistic director of the Eric Ericson International Choral Centre. She also holds workshops for choirs and ensembles, e.g. through The Real Group Academy. Since 2020, Katarina has led two choirs in Visby on Gotland. Her commitment to music and culture is also expressed through active board work in several organisations, such as Sweden's Körförbund and SAMI. Photo: Joanne Nugas
